Directions to Balance Rock Inn

Balance Rock in is on Mount Desert Island, along the rugged coast of "Down East" Maine. It is approximately six hours north of Boston by automobile.

Airports: Bar Harbor is serviced by the local airport, Hancock County - Bar Harbor Airport (BHB), located just 12 miles from the Inn, and by national airlines flying into Bangor International Airport, 50 miles away. There are also direct flights from Boston's Logan Airport.

Driving: From Boston take I-95 north to Augusta, Maine, then Route 3 east to Ellsworth and on to Mount Desert Island.
(For an alternate route, continue on I-95 north to Bangor, Maine, then take Route 1A east to Ellsworth. In Ellsworth, take Route 3 to Mount Desert Island.)
Follow Route 3 into Bar Harbor. Take a left at the first stop sign, continuing on Route 3 (Mount Desert Street), and proceed straight to the stop sign at Main Street. Turn left on Main Street and take an immediate right onto Albert Meadow. Balance Rock Inn is on the right at the end of Albert Meadow.
